South Australia (SA) is uniquely positioned to lead in cyber security, meeting the growing demand for advanced capabilities in sectors like defence, space, and critical technologies. Our strategic vision focuses on protecting digital assets and cultivating an environment where innovation and collaboration drive economic growth.

Central to this are educational pathways, strategic partnerships, and establishing SA as the cyber security partner of choice in an increasingly insecure world.

Cyber security is not just a protective measure. It is an enabling sector that spurs broader innovation, economic growth and solidifies its status as a dynamic industry.

SA is already a hub for cyber innovation, with significant infrastructure and national and international partnerships. Initiatives such as the Australian Defence Technologies Academy, to be developed at Lot Fourteen, will provide digital training, education, and research capabilities critical to the defence industry, while aligning with the space and cyber sectors.

The demand for a skilled cyber workforce is ever-growing. To meet SA’s growing cyber security needs, it is essential that there are contemporary education pathways that enable a skilled cyber workforce. Through strong collaboration between education providers and industry we aim to equip individuals with the skills SA needs.

This workforce will be well-equipped to protect SA’s digital infrastructure, contribute to its overall
cyber resilience, and unlock wider whole of economy benefits through the supply of a skilled labour force.

By attracting, and growing an adaptable, skilled, and diverse cyber workforce, SA will be positioned as a hub for cyber- innovation, collaboration, research, and capability development. SA can be a global leading hub for cyber innovation, advanced cyber capabilities, and a supplier of cyber services domestically and internationally.
